We The Freelancers brings together freelance opportunities, grants and calls, a toolkit and a newsletter, for writers, translators, editors, researchers, designers and other independent creative professionals.

How we choose what to publish

  • We look for clear briefs — what the work is, who it's for, and how to apply.
  • We favour credible, identifiable publishers and organisations over anonymous or unverifiable ones.
  • We publish pay and deadlines where the organiser has stated them.
  • We leave out listings that are vague, expired, or that ask you to pay a fee.
  • We always link to the original listing, so you can confirm the details yourself.
  • While the site is new, sample listings are clearly labelled as samples — we never present them as real, and we never invent testimonials, subscriber counts or results.
