Questions
What is the We The Freelancers newsletter?
A curated round-up of freelance opportunities, calls, guides and community stories from We The Freelancers, sent to your inbox. It's a supporting service to the site, not a replacement for browsing opportunities directly.
What opportunities will I get?
A selection drawn from what's listed on the site: freelance opportunities, grants, fellowships, residencies and open calls across writing and editing, translation and language, and creative work. We don't promise a set number or a guaranteed fit for every profession in every issue.
Is it free?
Yes. The free newsletter is opening soon. A free, regular round-up of freelance opportunities, calls and guides, sent straight to your inbox.
When does the paid subscription arrive?
A paid monthly edition may follow the free newsletter. No price or feature list has been decided yet. Not available yet. If it launches, it will be announced to subscribers before it opens.
How often will I receive it?
Not fixed yet. Expect occasional issues while we build up the opportunities list, moving to a regular schedule once that's running.
Will it be relevant to my profession and location?
We're building the opportunities list to cover several disciplines and an international audience, with a strong base in Kerala, the Gulf and the UK. Not every issue will be relevant to every profession or region, and we'd rather say that plainly than promise a perfect match.
Do you guarantee work or income?
No. We share opportunities and calls that exist elsewhere; we don't guarantee interviews, commissions or income from anything listed here or sent in the newsletter.
How do you select opportunities?
By checking that a listing has a verifiable link to its original source and fits one of the site's categories or desks. Sample listings used while the site is new are clearly labelled as samples and are never mixed in as if they were real.
Can I unsubscribe?
Yes, at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any issue once the signup is live and connected to a provider.
How do I report a suspicious listing?
If a listing looks fake or unsafe, please use the contact page once it's connected — we won't show an address here until it actually works, with a link to the listing and what seemed wrong. See the scam-checklist in the Freelancer Toolkit for the warning signs we ask people to look out for.
