A fully funded trip to Doha for ten journalists from the Least Developed Countries to cover the UN's Midterm Review of the Doha Programme of Action, 25–27 March 2027.

Support

Round-trip economy flights to Doha, a daily allowance for accommodation and meals under UN rules, orientation and briefings. Ten fellows are selected.

Eligibility

Journalists aged 18 or over who are nationals of one of the 44 Least Developed Countries (including Djibouti, Mauritania, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen), with at least two years' professional experience and regularly published or broadcast work, staff or freelance. No application fee.

New Japanese Literature in Translation (folio)

Support

Published work is paid at New England Review's standard rate of $20 a page ($50 minimum), plus two copies of the issue.

Eligibility

Translators or writers submitting new Japanese writing in English translation, not previously published in translation. English-language rights must be available for first US serial and electronic publication.

Professional translators of Swedish literature and drama (written in Swedish or a Swedish national minority language and published in Sweden), anywhere in the world. Translators into Swedish, publishers and organisations can't apply.

Eligibility

At least five years in journalism, working for a news organisation or independently. Anyone without US citizenship applies as an international applicant by 1 December; US citizens apply by 1 February 2027. Fellows must live in Ann Arbor for the year.
