About this research fellowship

The British Academy and the Wolfson Foundation run this fifth round jointly to support future leaders in research and public engagement. The award buys fellows time away from some of their usual duties and pays for public engagement, travel and mentoring. Judges weigh the quality of the research and the applicant's ability to reach a broad audience. Part-time staff and people returning from caring leave are encouraged to apply.
